Support Us

The SSC is a volunteer lead charity and we have always strived to keep camp fees as affordable as possible, as such we largely rely on funding, member subscriptions and donations. If you would like to support us there are three main ways you could help out!

Make a donation. This doesn’t have to be money we also welcome any useful gifts such as the former camper who donates us potatoes for Struan. If you could loan us a generator, could get us reduced price printing or want to donate a specific item please get in touch.  Likewise if you have any professional skills or knowledge you would be willing to offer if needed, drop us a line and let us know.

Volunteer with us. This doesn’t need to be at camp, we have plenty of roles throughout the year in all different areas of expertise. Whether you have a background in finance or sports coaching we would love your help! If you are interested in this get in touch with Alice our administrator and she can help get you organised!

Spread the word. Simple - tell your friends, family and colleagues about us!

We are always keen to keep in touch with anyone who has ever camped at Struan, Bruar, Dalguise and anywhere else.

The SSC is a registered charity, and our main source of funding comes from former campers and friends.  If you think you could spare a few pounds a month to help us to continue to give young people the time of their lives, help keep forging new friendships and help us teach them the confidence, teamwork and understanding that comes from living in a field, then please consider subscribing.

One of our key aims, through our Assisted Places Fund, is to include young people at SSC activities who would otherwise miss out on a great week at camp. As well as from families, we get requests from teachers, youth services, social services and others acting as intermediaries between the family and ourselves.

We have no minimum (or maximum!) donation for associates, and are grateful for anything you can give.  It is easy to make a one off or regular donation or set up a standing order. Please send completed forms for standing orders by post to the office. Contact Ellen who is our associates engagement officer for any help with this,

Assisted Places

The SSC has a special fund dedicated purely to assisting young people so they can come to camp. We organise fundraisers in order to keep this fund topped up and we aim to spend this money on an annual basis. So, if you want to help young people who would otherwise miss out on The SSC experience, a donation would be most welcome or take part in a fundraising event. Details of which are usually on our facebook page.
